Journey of Hope By T.K. Chapin

Journey of Hope
By: T.K. Chapin

T.K. Chapin brings us the second in his series, “Journey of Love”.  Again through this beautifully written Christian Fiction love story, he shows us how marvelous God’s immeasurable love is.  How He takes every situation in our lives and uses them for good, if we are willing to trust Him to complete the bigger picture.

In this book Bethany and Mark struggle to understand why God is putting them through this trial.  Why is their faith not strong enough to sustain their daughter, Elly’s illness?  Why did God let Elly’s liver fail?  She is only sixteen and the possibility of her dying is devastating to any parent.  How can they find common-ground and hope, love and trust again?

As you turn the pages you will be captivated by their story and their journey to find the peace their family once enjoyed.  Chapin weaves his magic through words to show us time and again God’s love and mercy in all of life’s events.  He shows us that communicating with God through prayer and reading our Bible is paramount and communicating with each other is the basis of a good marriage.

As you read this book, you will be captivated from the first page and please keep the tissues handy; if you are a parent…you are going to need them.

As I read the final chapter of the book, I kept thinking…what an awesome God we serve.  I was uplifted and renewed in my faith.  Thank you again T.K. Chapin for another great book.

Jesus Calling Creative Coloring & Hand Lettering

Jesus Calling
Creative Coloring & Hand Lettering
By:  Sarah Young
Publisher:  Thomas Nelson

You have probably colored many adult coloring books, however this adult coloring book not only has beautifully illustrated pages to color but guides to help you learn how to do hand lettering.  According to the directions the grey verse pages are so you can trace them, learning the proper technique for hand lettering.

About the book:
It has a beautifully illustrated cover with foil accents throughout, making you want to open it and start coloring immediately.  The pages are thick with good quality paper.  It has a wide variety of pictures from floral, landscapes, wild life and much more.  There is a little something for everyone.

This is a wonderful way to relax while enjoying God’s word through verse and coloring.

This is one of my favorite adult coloring books so far.

A Light on the Hill By Connilyn Cossette

A Light on the Hill
(Cities of Refuge)
BY:  Connilyn Cossette
Publisher:  Bethany House

Moriyah, a Hebrew, had taken refuge in the city of Jericho with her friend Alanah at her sister, Rahab’s home.  She and her friend had been kidnapped by Midianite traders from their camp, which began their harrowing journey.  Moiyah was taken to the priest in Jericho to be branded as a prostitute for the Canaanite gods.  Even though she escaped before she became a prostitute, she bore the shame of the brand on her face for the rest of her life.   She knew with the mark no man would ever marry her.

Her father was concerned about his health so he found a widower with two sons who agreed to marry his daughter.  However his sons were cruel and things quickly got out of control causing Moriyah to run for her life, because she had unwittingly cooked a poisonous herb in her stew that killed the man’s sons.  Darek, the son’s uncle befriended her and helped her get to Kedesh, the city of refuge.

In their journey Darek, learned that Moriyah didn’t realize the herb was in her stew and he knew she would never willingly hurt anyone.  Even though he was sent by his brother to bring her back to face certain death, will he be able to do so or will he and Moriyah be able to find a life together?

In my opinion, Connilyn Cossette is one of the best Biblical historical fiction writers ever.  She weaves an intricate story with fact and fiction that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end while bringing the Bible stories of old to life.

If you are a fan of historical Biblical fiction then this is a series you won’t want to miss.  I can’t wait for the next in the series.
