Hectic 24 Hours

Just a quick update to let you know I may not be posting to my blog for a few days. Yesterday I received a call telling me an elderly cousin passed away, then received another call with news that another cousin my age passed away. Then this afternoon I rushed my hubby to the hospital with a possible TIA or stroke. They are keeping him for further testing and evlauation. I didn't get home until 11 PM and I'm beat! When you have time please think some good thoughts for my hubby. He is not only my soul mate, but also my best friend in the world.

Whoooo HOOOO

I received this award from the Lovely Bev at

On A Roll

As you can see, I was on a roll yesterday. After I cleaned my craft room (it was even getting on my nerves) I rewarded myself with an evening of crafting. Also thought if I was going to get any crafting done this week, I needed to get busy, because I have my Miss V everyday. We have to play rather than craft!

The sketch for this layout came from . As always their sketch is delightful to work with and helps me to use my ribbons. Since I used a Penny Black stamp I thought I would add it to their challenge this week of "anything but cards"
Penny Black Saturday Challenge I made this cover for my craft checkbook. I hate the covers that come from the bank, so always try to make one that suits me. This fits the bill!

Back Yard Fun

As I was sitting on the Patio watching Miss V throw water on her Poppy, I thought what a wonderful memory that would make, so I drug out my trusty camera we have another memory. It was such a fun day for her and for us. She would throw water from a little pail on Poppy and then scream at the top of her lungs in sheer delight as he turned the garden hose on her. This is actually a 2-page layout with my journaling on the other page. I am entering this in a challege at:

BG paper is from Archiever's exclusive summer paper
Prism flowers
Brads: Archiever's exclusive summer embellishments
summer fun font: Cuttle Bug Red Tag Sale

No Time For Crafting Today

There has been no time for crafting today. It was my morning to spend with Miss V. Her Poppy came home at noon so we surprised her by taking her to the local county fair. When we finally told her where we were going, her little eyes just sparkled and she said, "Oh Non I am so cited"! Of course I was excited too, because she always has so much fun. Before we could leave she had to take time to put on her make up, comb her hair and brush her teeth. LOL Once she was sure she was gorgeous, we were on our way, with every other mile a little voice from the back seat saying, "how much longer before we are there?" After 30 minutes we finally arrived. First off we had to go through all the advert barns and stalls to get all the freebies they were handing out. Then it was off to the rides. We told Miss V she could ride 3 rides so she chose to ride the dragon roller coaster (for little kids). I was very proud of her. She bravely stood in line, walked in all by herself, climbed up into the car and gave a half smile/half scared look. She had never ridden this type of ride before. She was not too fond of it, but didn't cry. What a brave little one. She looked so alone in that car all by herself. Next she rode the bumper cars again for little kids and this time she was paired with another little girl. They became instant friends, just chatting away. To my dismay the final ride was the merry-go-round. Because of the height regulations an adult would have to ride with her and that would be me. I get very sick riding anything that goes round and round. Not to disappoint my little one, this time I bravely climbed upon the ride with a half smile and we were off, with Miss V shreeking in delight and me wishing I could get off. LOL It was over! Whew! We walked some more to take in the rest of the sights, such as the pig, cow, goat, sheep, draft horse, race horse, show horse and all the little animal barns. Was so glad when we were out of that smelly part! Miss V loved all of them and wanted to bring at least one of each home with her. We ran into acquaintences we had not seen in a long time, so caught up on years of news. Then it was time to eat all the greasy fair food. (to be honest that is the only reason I go. Once a year I indulge without guilt). After eating we walked more. Finally it was time to leave. On the way back home we decided to surprise Great Grandpa and Grandma, so we took them and elephant ear and a funnel cake. By the time we finally made it home Miss V's mom was here waiting for us and we had one very tired but extremely happy little girl and I have more pictures to scrap and journal about. Life can't get any better than that!

Home Is Where....

Yesterday, while blog hopping, I came across this scrapbook challenge about home at: and I thought what a wonderful way to scrapbook Miss V as she was playing house in her pop up castle tent in our front yard. In this particular picture she was pretending she had just moved into the neighborhood and I was her neighbor. She came over to meet me and we became best friends. She said she could not call me Nonnie so I had to be her bestest friend and my name would be Sarah. She really has a vivid imagination. I couldn't journal all I wanted to say on the front so I continued it on the back of the page. LOL I'm afraid when it comes to Miss V I always have a lot to say. My emotions run deep with so much love for this little girl.

Sorry for the horrible picture of my page. I can never seem to get them straight, however they really are straight. LOL

The BG paper is from Fancy Pants Designs - Mulberry Road & Autum Leaves from Creativity, Inc. Journaling box is from Imaginations. Ink used to ink edges is color box - warm red. Flower centers and dots on title are from mark richardsusa - clear hot pink dots. Flowers are Michaels Bridal Table Confetti. I am not sure who the stamp home is by. I made the mistake of taking all my stamps out of their package to store them in a storage binder, minus that information..

Unconditional Love - Method Playground Challenge -Bows

As I was sitting working on this page, I thought how fortunate my sweet Miss V is to have her great-grandparents. My father, who is her great grandpa, is 83 and he dotes on her. No matter what he is doing, he ALWAYS has time for her. She asked me the other day if we could go to grandpa and grandma's house (I'm Nonnie) because it was "funner" there. LOL! My father was just recovering from a 2 month long illness so this picture is really special to me. I have added this page in my first ever dedicated scrapbook blog challenge at

BG paper is from 3 bugs n in a rug. Flowers have been cut from another sheet of same paper and a swarovski crystal added in the center. Some of them are topez and some are olivine. Journaling tag is tucked partially under the photo and the ribbons are from my stash. The "love" stamp is from Heidi Swapp, ink is colorbox, chestnut roan. Corner beige cardstock is from cardstock ware house and has been inked with the same ink, using the direct to paper method

4 Challenges With 2 Cards

I have been busy this afternoon just crafting away. Not really! It has taken me all afternoon just to do 2 cards. LOL! The challenge has been to keep at it until it is finished.

However this great sketch is from Cutie Sunday Challenge. I really love the sketch and I was also able to use it with the challenge from the
Sarah Kay Weekly Challenges , using a Sarah Kay image and a charm. The charm is hard to read but it says "best friends"

Sarah Kay image is colored with prisma color pencils, ribbon from my stash, You and me stamp? , prism flowers, pearl center, mark richards usa, BG paper Debbie Mumm Harvent & Holiday collection and DCWV Fall.

This week's Challenge from
Arty Girlz Challenge Blog was no purchased designer paper. Oh no! What to do? There are such lovely papers out there right now and I can't use them? So, I drug out my Memory Mists and Alcohol Inks and got busy. This is what I came up with. No sure that I like the outcome, has been a long time since I did my own backgrounds. Thanks for the challenge.
Also the challenge for Penny Black Saturday Challenge was to use a Penny Black image and ribbon. I think this fits the bill so I have added.
Not much to tell about how I did this. Alcohol Inks, Memory Mists, Prism flower. Center is a "CD" stamp, Penny Black image done with prisma color pencils, ribbon from my stash.

Hectic Couple Days

It has been a hectic couple days and I hope to get back to crafting soonest. Miss V and I had a wonderful day and plan to have another half day together today. We are learning how to print her name. Hubby will be home from work at noon so he will take over from there. I went to the Dr on Wednesday and the skin cancer on my scalp has returned so I had to have it removed again, then my Fibro decided to come out of remission and am dealing with much pain, however such is life and all is not doom and gloom though it may have sounded that way. LOL I am truly thankful for everyday. I have managed to get a card made for Miss V's upcoming birthday and am working on her scrapbook. I always make a special 8 x 8 scrapbook for her birthdays. (I don't even have last Christmas scrapped. I am so far behind LOL). She loves to get them down and "read" about her birthdays. I promise as soon as I get a little more energy I will start doing challenges again. Have a blessed day!

Not Your Normal Christmas Card

Tomorrow I have Miss V and when she is here I get very little done. We spend most of the day playing. I can tell you there is nothing better than being a grandmother. LOL. She is the light of my life.

Every year for Christmas I seem to make at least one Christams card that is .... well....different. I suppose this one could definitely classify as different. I have used a sketch similar to so I am hoping this classifies for their challenge. I have certainly been in a different mode today. Maybe tomorrow I will return to normal whatever that might be.

I used this stamp a couple years ago and smeared the name on the end of the stamp, so I don't have a clue who made it. It is stamped with black india ink, paper is from my scrapbox. Ribbon from my stash box. Flowers are Michaels Bridal Table Confetti, white. Centers are red pearls from Mark Roberts. Circle is cut from cuttlebug.

Cutie Sunday - A Real Challenge For Me

Talk about a challenge....This puzzle piece was truly one for me. I have cut enough puzzle pieces to actually build a full size puzzle. LOL. I am not sure what I wanted to accomplish other than I wanted it to look like a real puzzle piece. Think I have failed miserably. Oh well, maybe next time my mind and my hands will work together. LOL (That would be a first). Since I used the layout from Cutie Sunday I thought I would enter it in their challenge this week. If nothing else everyone can have a good chuckle.

The Tilda stamp is colored with Derwent inktense color pencils and the trim is Stickles - stardust.
Fence is also a Magnolia stamp, colored with prisma color pencils. Tree Stamp is Hero Arts. (ink used for trees Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy). Miscellaneous paper and snow flake embellishments

You Make Me Smile

Whoo Hoo my circle and oval nesties came yesterday along with my order of Swarovski Crystals. I have been having a ball playing with them. Came up with this layout using small circle nestie and fire opal crystals for the center of the flowers. I have to quit ordering new supplies. I never get any housework done because I am like a child with a gift when they arrive. I just have to try them out! LOL Thought this layout fit the challenge spots and stripes from

Sarah Kay has gone Pink & Orange

Had a play today with this Sarah Kay stamp. I have so much to get done, but this stamp just kept calling my name... LOL. Thought I would do something out of the norm for me and add a bit of orange to my image. I am not an orange person. Not sure how I feel about the outcome and the photo really doesn't do it justice, but is is what it is. While serfing I found a blog called and thought with a little tweeking my card could fit right into there # 13 sketch, so will probably add it to their challenge, if I can get it in on time. Just be my luck to be too late.

BG paper is American Traditions, orange card stock Bazill Bling. Prism paper flowers, centers Swarovski Crystals, rose. Image colored with prisma color pencils. Stick pen I found in my stashbox is from K&co. Really old. thought it would go well with a basket full of gardening tools. Should go through my stash box more often. LOL

Singing Sensation - Swirls & Flourishes

Today I decided it was time to scrapbook. I am so far behind. LOL Oh well for me scrapbooking will always be "a work in progress"! I really can scrap other things, but my granddaughter is such a willing participant. I am accused of sleeping with my camera... NOT SO, well not all the time. LOL. Thought I might add this to the Swirls and Flourish Challenge at:
Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog although I might be too late...

BG paper is Basic Grey - Sugared Collection. Jewels from my stash and flourishes rubber stamp. Please don't ask me which one. I made the mistake of taking all my clear stamps out of their packages to put them in a binder. Thought I would remember what was what....but....Need I say more? LOL

My Scrapbooking Pages

Scrapbooking about my granddaughter, Miss V, is one of the major highlights of my life. I know you can't tell by all the photos of her. LOL She goes from beautiful, to silly, to imaginative to all girl. She 3 1/2 yrs old and is truly a gift to me from God. She asked me why I took so many pictures of her and I told her because "Everything you do is worth remembering. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I do scrapping them. I just noticed that I left the title off the bottom pages which should read "All Girl" Ahhhhh... another senior moment! LOL

I Am Blessed

I got up this morning feeling truly Blessed. Not that I am not Blessed all the time, but for some reason today just felt special. Maybe it is because I have a wonderful husband, son, DIL and granddaughter (Miss V). Or maybe it is because I still have my parents with me and they are in relatively good health, or it might be the closeness of my sibblings. Who knows, but whatever it is that made me feel this way this morning, I am greatful.

Later today I plan to add a few of my scrapbooking pages. Since I have named this Blog "Sallys Creative Corner, I thought I should add a few of the things I love doing and scrapbooking is definitely one of them. I was scrapbooking before it became popular. I started many years ago while researching my family history. I loved taking pictures, listening to stories from our family members, jotting them down and later journaling them. Sometimes after after seeing their stories in print my family wasn't real happy because of "family skeletons". I have always thought it was hilarious. It takes all those things to make us the family we are! Enough ramblings

Cutie Sunday Sketch 4

This morning I thought I would try my hand at a challenge from Cutie Sunday using their sketch #4. With it being mid summer it looks a little Fallish to me, but as my son would say "it is what it is!" I had a lot of fun using this sketch. I think I am getting addicted to this challenge business. LOL Humm wonder why I never get any house work done?
As usual colored my stamp with Prismacolors and blended with gamsol. Cut image out by using my nesties (love those dies). Added clear jewels to shoe straps from stash. (My granddaughter, Miss V wanted purple flowers on her shoes. Since she ususally gets what she wants we have purple flowers). Flowers are Michaels Bridal table series, white. Centers: Mark Richards pearls that I colored to match my paper. Background paper: Paper Loft-well worn-field of daisies and rust color paper is: MME-signature series-picture perfect. Ribbon from stash.

Penny Black Challenge 8 NO PINK

I am going to enter my 2nd challenge. I hope this is what they are looking for. This one will be posted on Be sure to stop by and look at all the lovely cards..

It is truly difficult for me to make a card or scrapbook without some type of pink. LOL Maybe it is because I scrapbook so much for my granddaughter and she is a girly girl who lovvvvveeeeesss Pink, thus leaving tons of pink scraps for me to use on my cards. Can you believe at the moment this is the only PB stamp that I own, that is soon to change. I have been on the internet searching out the ones that I want to buy. Whoa, what a wish list! This stamp is one of her brush stroke stamps Winter Scroll.
I stamped the image using top boss clear ink, detail gold embossing powder, red jewels from my stash, dark green cardstock for backing paper, printed backing paper is Daisy Bucket Designs - Astor Park Collection - Quincy Street, cut to match the corners and the center strip is cut at angles with tapering it in the middle and gold metallic ribbon from my stash. Sentiment stamp is embossed with detail gold. and is from A Stamp In The Hand Holiday Pack #1.
