Book Review-Soul Coats: Restoration A Coloring book created by Rohadi

Soul Coats:  Restoration-Adult Coloring Book
With Bible Scenes and Verses
By: Rohadi
Publisher: Robarry Publications

If you are like me and have been bitten by the Adult coloring book craze and crave anything Biblical in theme, then you are in luck with “Soul Coats-Adult Coloring Book”.  It has it all.  When I went to Soul Coats website, I saw that I could download a free study course guide that has questions and reflections for every scene in the 72-page coloring book.  I love how each time you color a page the study guide encourages you to pray before you start your coloring.  As I read the guide for the page I was coloring, it brought me such peace as I reflected on the scripture while coloring.  These are not your typical pages to color; they are very intricate and unique.  They reflect the tried and true Bible stories with a modern flair.

At this point I have been reading more than coloring as I think it would be great to have a couple ladies over for coffee and use the coloring book and study guide as a time of devotion after the holidays are done.  In my opinion it will be the perfect beginning to the New Year.

The coloring book measures approximately 10 inches by 10 inches.  The pages are thicker than most of the books I have colored.  This is going to be a remarkable journey from beginning to end.  I would encourage anyone purchasing this book to also connect with Soul Coats and download the study guide.  You will not be disappointed.  I love this different approach to Scriptural-based coloring.   Although there are no page numbers in the book to correspond with the study guide, so far I have not found it to be a big issue to match them together.

With Christmas just around the corner, this would be the perfect book to give to someone as a gift just to say I am thinking of you in a special way or if they are struggling with issues in their lives.  I highly recommend this book because it is the first time I have ever done coloring with a purpose and time for reflection on God’s word.

Book Review-One Monday Prayer By T.K. Chapin

One Monday Prayer
Diamond Lake Series
Book 5
By:  T.K. Chapin

Mr. Chapin, thank you so much for this wonderful series and for providing me with the opportunity to read and review your wonder work.    With each book I read, I claim it is the best yet and…”One Monday Prayer” is the best yet.  They just keep getting better with each book!

In “One Monday Prayer” Angie is the main character and Serenah’s cousin.  Although it has been two years Angie, is still reeling from the loss of her husband and to top it off she is dealing with a fire in her apartment.  Serenah reaches out to her cousin and invites her to spend the holidays at the Inn on the Lake.

We are also reintroduced to Connor, Katie’s brother.  Angie and Connor’s meeting was meeting of chance.  Angie is fearful of flying and Connor, a perfect stranger helps her pray through her fear.  Little did she realize that Connor would re-enter her life and she would once again be dating and enjoying life.

This book is filled with real-life situations that show life definitely isn’t perfect, nor does it always go the way we planned.  However, it does show just how much God is in control of the past, present and future.  As Angie struggled with the guilt of enjoying dating again God put Emma in her path to show her that God didn’t expect her forget, her husband Ted’s memory, but that He gives us what we need when we need it if we are a willing recipient.  I was glad that Emma lived long enough to share her story with Angie.

This book is filled with romance, heart break, letting go of the past and embracing the future with the help of God to guide you.  I was hooked from page one and didn’t put it down until I finished the last page.  I highly recommend this series.  Mr. Chapin takes real-life situations that seems almost unsurmountable and shows through his writing how God can work them out.  All you need is prayer, faith and patience.  Although this is a series and it would be better to read them in order, you can easily catch up on the characters, however once you read this book, I can promise you…you will want to go back and read all of the series.
