I have been a long-time listener of Pastor Hagee, so I knew from the minute I opened this Bible I was going to love it.  It will definitely be my go-to study Bible.  I just wish that I could have shared this Bible with my dad before he passed away.  He too, would have loved it.

Some of the things I have found that I love about this particular Bible is…it makes prophecy easier to understand.  Pastor Hagee has basically done all the reference work.  I have always had difficulty figuring out what time period the books of the Bible are.  Pastor Hagee has taken care of that in the beginning of each book because he not only included the date, but also key words, a review of the book and an outline.   The print is a good size and I love that it is red-letter edition.  It has the typical things you would find in any Bible like a decent Concordance and maps of Biblical times, but this one goes far beyond the usual things.  There are hundreds of pages of information to aid in understanding prophecy.  One of the things that stood out in my mind was where Pastor Hagee states understanding prophecy is not so we know who the antichrist is or even when the rapture will take place…but to prepare us to be ready and more importantly God shows us He will prevail!

I highly recommend this Bible, especially if you have the desire to understand prophecy.  I advise you to read the, Features of the Bible Text.  The Bible I received is hard-cover with a dust cover.  It measures approximately 9.5 in. x 6.5 in x 1.75 in., making it an easy book to carry and use. My one wish would be that it would have been in JKV rather than NKJV  however, Pastor John Hagee, I thank God for making this Bible possible through you.

Book Review-Forgiven By Terri Roberts

Forgiven
By:  Terri Roberts
With Jeanette Windle
Publisher:  Bethany House

From The Back of the Book:

After a son does the unthinkable, how can a mother go on?

On October 2, 2006, a gunman entered an Amish one-room schoolhouse, shooting ten girls, killing five, then finally taking his own life. This is his mother's story. Not only did she lose her precious son through suicide, but she also lost her understanding of him as an honorable man. It was a trauma that none should ever have to face.

But the biggest headlines came when her Amish neighbors did the unimaginable, reaching out to the family of the shooter with comfort and forgiveness. Today Terri lives in harmony with the Amish and has built lasting relationships beyond what anyone could have thought possible. From the grace that the Amish showed Terri's family from day one, to the visits and ongoing care Terri has given to the victims and their families, no one could have foreseen the love and friendship that have been forged from the fires of tragedy.

My Review:
This is truly a book you will have a difficult time putting down.  It will capture your heart from the very first page. Just be sure to keep a box of tissues nearby.   I remember when the Nickle Mines tragedy was all over the news and I remember thinking how will those families ever be able to pick up the pieces and go on.  I wondered even though they were Amish, if they would be able to forgive as their faith teaches.  I thought about the young man, wondering what caused him to be able to take all those lives and his own.  The more I thought about him, the more I thought about his family.  My heart truly ached for everyone involved.  Through reading Terri’s story, again my heart broke because she not only carried the burden for what her son had done to others, but she also had to deal with her emotions and heartbreak from losing her own son.  Her journey to find forgiveness and restore her faith will have you in tears.  She and her husband along with the Amish Community have truly found “joy through adversity”.   I am glad they have found healing, hope, forgiveness and peace.  God truly does work miracles by turning tragedy into something good.  Eventhough this is about a horrible tragedy it will bless your heart and restore your faith.

eNovella Review-Toward the Sunrise By: Elizabeth Camden

Toward the Sunrise
By: Elizabeth Camden
Publisher:  Bethany House

Julia Broeder is six months away from graduating from Women’s Medical College of Pennsylvania, when she decides to break the rules by breaking into a surgery unit and operating on a dog…only to steal it to keep its owners from fighting it again.  She finds herself expelled from school and returning home in disgrace.  Her brother encourages her to contact the junior attorney, Ashton Carlyle, for the Vandermarks, who have been the long-time employers for the Broeder family.

Julia is undecided what to do so she takes a job for a local farmer delivering baby goats.  When Mr. Vandermark finds out Julia has been expelled he sends Ashton to Dierenpark to convince her to return to college.  Julia is shocked to see the stuff-shirt Ashton Carlyle in a goat barn…much less helping to deliver baby goats.

This was a sweet love story of a poor girl who was given a chance to go to college to full-fill her dream and fall in love at the same time.  Eventhough I loved the storyline, I felt it ended abruptly, leaving too many unanswered questions.  I hope at some point the author will have a sequel so we know what happens to Dierenpark.

Book Review-The Kill Box By Nichole Christoff

The Kill Box
A Jamie Sinclair Novel
By:  Nichole Christoff
Publisher:  Random House Publishing Group-Alibi

Jamie Sinclair, a private investigator and Adam Barnett (a military police officer) have plans to spend the weekend in wine country…until a strung-out soldier, Vance McCabe, forces his way into her home taking Adam’s private nurse, Mrs. Montgomery, as hostage.  Although Jamie has never seen this man before Adam knows him well.  When Vance says one word to Adam, he packs his duffle bag leaving Jamie to wonder what just happened.  Three days after Adam leaves with Vance, Jamie receives a phone call from Miranda Barrett, Adam’s grandmother, begging her to come to Fallowfield and help her grandson…because he is in jail.

Although this is the third book in the Jamie Sinclair series, you do not need to read the other two in order to understand this book, however you will want to go back and read them.  This is a fast-paced novel that will capture your attention from the first page.  The twists, turns and suspense will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat with bated breath to the very end.  If you love suspense-filled novels this will be a must-read.  Although the plot has a gripping story line and the characters are well developed it didn’t quite seem to be a thriller to me.    However it was a great book and I for one can’t wait for the next in the series. In my opinion, what was not to love about this book…it has romance, suspense and intrigue…along with a grandmother you can’t keep from falling in love with.
