He's a marine. He doesn't need help. He needs employment. He certainly doesn't have issues so why can't he seem to readjust to being stateside with his family? And what's up with all the people in his life? His friends have adopted a little three-year old boy with serious issues. There is something about that little boy that resonates with tough-marine Chet but he can't quite put his finger on it. Will the events leading up to this Christmas be able to melt his marine-tough heart or will he forever slip into a dark, spiraling depression?
Kathi Marcias takes the difficult subject of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and weaves a beautiful story about Chet and Jeneen as they struggle with this issue. She shows through prayer, love and faith how triumphant your victory can be in your journey with God. She not only talks about PTSD but also Attachment Disorder where we meet Steve and Breanna who struggle to help their adopted son as he struggles with his demons from his early childhood. In this book MS Marcias shows time and again the peace that can be found in placing your trust in God. It is a beautiful, compelling story that will remain in your heart long after you have read the last page.
I would highly recommend this book, especially if you have someone in your life dealing this these issues, but even if you or a loved one is not facing these issues you will find a blessing as you turn the pages in this book because each page is filled with hope.
