Book Review-A Worthy Pursuit By Karen Witemeyer

A Worthy Pursuit
By:  Karen Witemeyer
Publisher:  Bethany House

Sullivan’s Academy for the Exceptional Youths is closing its doors.  Charlotte (Miss Lottie) Atherton, head mistress has been entrusted to keep Lily safe, which was Lily’s mother,  Rebekah Dorchester’s wish before she died.  Rebekah signed papers to keep Lily away from her grandfather by making Charlotte her guardian.  To keep her promise Charlotte packs the belongings of Lily, Stephen Farley (whose parents are in Europe) and John Chang, an orphan and leaves in the middle of the night with her charges.  At all costs she is determined at she will keep the children safe and Lily out of the hands of her grandfather even if it means outwitting and out-running bounty hunter, Stone Hammond.

This delightful book will keep you turning the pages as Lily steals your heart.  Your heart will melt as Lily, John, Stephen and Charlotte become a family in every way except blood.  You will watch their love for each other flourish under Charlotte’s care.  The antics of Lily and the boys will cause you to laugh, cry and hold your breath.  As you turn the pages you will find them filled with love, commitment and a strong desire to do what is right.  Charlotte constantly finds herself asking God to show her His will for herself and the children.  Although this is a Christian-based book it is sure to appeal to all readers.
