Lauren Elliott finally realizes her long-time boyfriend Todd would never propose to her because he was waiting for his career as a TV anchor to happen.  She learns that her younger sister is pregnant and is happy for her, yet disappointed because she wants to be a wife and mother.  After her break up with Todd, Lauren makes a list of what she would like in a prospective husband, never expecting to meet “Mr. Right”.  However when Bethanne Scranton’s long-distance husband comes to Seattle to see her, he brings his biker buddy and business partner, Rooster, with him.  Rooster and Lauren meet accidentally at a restaurant while she is waiting for Todd to show up.  When Todd doesn’t show up, she makes a bold move and leaves with Rooster aka..John Wayne.  In an intricately woven story, what happens to Lauren and Rooster will be revealed as you turn the pages of this book.
Although Lauren and Rooster are the main characters their lives are intertwined with several other couples.  The characters all play an important part in the culmination of the story.  This book deals with problems between mothers and daughters and mother’s learning they have to let go and trust their daughters.  It also touches on issues that older adopted children sometimes suffer from previous foster homes.
Being a fan of Debbie Macomber’s  books, it was a no brainer when I received the opportunity to read and review this book.  It didn’t disappoint.  If you like books about everyday life situations and a little romance thrown into the mix this is a must-read book.
