Hippity Hoppity Easter's On It's Way! (CORRECTED POST)

With Easter looming on the horizon, I thought I should get busy and make my cards for my sweet Miss V.  I usually make a couple of them for her as she loves getting them in the mail, eventhough she only lives 12 miles from me.  While I was at it I also made cards for my sister to mail to her grandchildren.  So grab a cup of coffee, put up your feet because this is a slightly long post.
I was asked to do a project for a friend, and had to make a trip to the local craft store (I don't frequent them unless I have a specific order). Anyway while I was there. I took a few minutes to browse through their stamp isle and came across this stamp set by inky antics. I had a 40% off coupon so decided it had been since last Nov, that I had really treated myself to crafting supplies. These stamps in the first card is their Honey Pot collection. These stamps are used in conjunction with honeycomb paper. Much to my dismay my store was out of the honeycomb paper so I went online to inky antics and found the paper which was 6.00 for a 6" x 4" sheet and 6.00 to mail it. That price was really beyond my budget! Yikes! Anyway to make a long story short, I found this site on the internet  Shiny Sparkle Pretty I was a little concerned about the size of the honeycombs so Alicia kindly sent me a sample. The size was a little larger than the inky antics paper, but works just great. I ordered from her and I can tell you I received my order in 2 days. They were sent from OK and I live in OH. Included were easy to follow cutting and gluing instuctions. She also told me I could cut two and glue them together to make them fuller. However in my cards I only used one. I am very pleased with the outcome for a first try. I can't wait to try other projects using this paper.

These first 2 cards are for my Miss V

Fab n Funky  More than one fold

These next cards are for my sister's grands!  She has one of each.  Bet you couldn't tell that from the pictures huh?

The first card is made using a digi (freebie) from Digital Delights.  It was just the perfect image for a little boy card.  Again I used the honeycomb paper on the inside.  I'm just lovin this stuff!  They make such fun features to the cards.  On the inside I used a medley of stamps from inky antics and from my dear friend Leanne, who sent me a couple stamp sets a while ago.  I have used them from time to time but have not given her credit.  The grass part was the perfect stamp for these two cards.   Thanks bunches hun.. I love the sets you sent to me!

The image used on the card below is a freebie that I got sometime ago on either Forgotten Scraps or Grandma's Pearls blog.  Sorry I can't remember which one it was.  This image makes the perfect little girl card..  I tried my hand at my own pattern for an egg on on the inside of this one.
Let's Ink It Up  Die cuts and punches.  My image is a digi however the sentiment, grass and eggs have been stamped.  The egg were then punched out of the paper I stamped on.  The little carrots were stamped and colored with copic markers.   OOPS!  MY BAD....DIDN'T REALIZE THAT YOU COULDN'T USE DIGIS IN CONJUNCTION WITH STAMPS.. THOUGHT SINCE MOST OF MY CARD WAS STAMPED IT WOULD FIT, HOWEVER I WAS WRONG....SORRY TO MISLEAD ALL MY BLOGGER BUDDIES.
Sentimental Sunday  Cute and Cuddly plus a sentiment.  You can't get much more cuddly than a little lamb.
Colour Create  Pastel colors (picture on their blog) plus Easter them as bonus

Butterfly Series Handmade Box With Assorted Cards

Over at Top Tip Tuesday  they have this fabulous tutorial for making the box below.  I have been looking for an easy box that I could use for my cards that require a box rather than an envelope.  The instructions given are for a smaller version, but it is easy to increase the sizes to fit your needs.  It is one that I will use over and over again.  Lots of pictures so grab a cup of coffee and have a look.

The cards were made using papers from the Mariposa Series paper by DCWV. I have had these for well over a year and decided it was time to use them.

Card below uses birthday sentiment from Heart and Soul Rubber Stamp Co

A St. Paddy's Day Card for Miss V

I don't often make St. Paddy's Day cards, but this year it is all my Miss V can talk about... Shamrocks, Leprechauns, pots of gold and rainbows.  They must be studying about  it in school.  Anyway this is what I came up for her.  The shamrock image and sentiment are stamps from Heart and Soul Rubber Stamp Co., the papers and inside images are from Scrapbook Flair (they have freebie papers and images each month)

I glittered the rainbow and gold in the pot along with the shoes, belt and band on the hat of theLeprechaun. I had a lot of fun making it.  I just hope my Miss V likes it.

This fits the following challenges:

Paper Play Challenge   St Paddy's Day
Scrappy Frogs Challenge   Good Luck St Paddy's Day Inspired (to me any St Paddy's Day card means good luck)

Friends Are Like Angels

I feel like it has been so long since I have had a few minutes to craft and I really do miss it.  It just seems that life has a way of taking priority sometimes and that is how it has been for us this whole past year.

Anyway I received some stamps from Heart and Soul Rubber Stamp Co this past week and really wanted to do some stamping.  The other night when I couldn't sleep I stamped this image up and this is what I have come up 3 days later.  I adore this image!

The papers I have used for this easel card are old papers that I have had forever.  Not sure of the name.  The image was colored with copic markers.  For the wings I used pearl Smooches and then added glamour dust on selected parts of the wings to give dimension.  The halo and trumpet are glittered with platinum glitter.  It is reall so pretty.  Wish you could see it in real life.
I would like to enter this in the follwing challenges:
Top Tip Tuesday  Favorites (your favorite embellishment or technique)
I used my favorite technique which is to use my copic markers to color flowers and embellishments and my favorite embellishemnt is flowers.
CInspirations  Things Found in A Garden
Mine is flowers and I have a statue of a garden angel.

I was surprised at this next card.  It was not what I had in mind at all, but once it all came together I really did like the color combo.  It is definitely out of my comfort zone.  The flowers were white with a shimmery satin finish.  I colored them with black copic markers which gave them sort of a gold/black color.  It doesn't show up well in the picture but they are stunning. While rummaging around in a odds and ends box, I came across this ribbon that has the same tan/camel color as in my card with streaks of black in it.  Don't you just love it when you can find the perfect scrap to bring it all together?

This fits the following challenge:
Let's Ink It Up  embossing ... heat or dry  The scallop folder is dry embossed around the edge.
Paper Take Weekly  Anything goes
