Check out the Blog Candy No Longer Spotlighting Scor-Pal

UPdated posts.... A little problem .
UPDATED UPDATE: Scor-Pal contaced me last night (via email) telling me their webstore was down for 2 days (not their email) Although I understand that issue, I still don't understand the lack of acknowledgement before that. Maybe I pulled the spotlight too soon, but in my heart I didn't want it to go on until the end with some person being very disappointed.

When I do a spotlight I always up until now have had product in hand to make sure that I will have the freebie to give when the spotlight is over, however with scor-pal they have opted to not send me the product, but said they will mail it themselves to the winner. The week before the spotlight I always contact the company with the write-up, letting them know their spotlight is coming up at the first of the week, however scor-pal has not acknowledge my current emails. Since I cannot afford to purchase one to give away . I am pulling the sponsorship. In place of this I have listed blog candy and it is open to everyone, not just North America. I know this is not as good as a scor-pal, but it is the best I could do.

I am so sorry and I will try never to let this happen again. Thank you so much for your understanding. This will run until the 28th of March with the winner being announced on Monday March 29.
For all of you who left posts on the scor-pal, I have left them on this post and have tried to contact you via email. If you prefer to not be included in the blog candy, just let me know using the email in my side bar and I will remove your entry. This is open to ALL

Again I am so sorry.

I know this in no way makes up for a scor-pal.

Cuttlebug die - Spring

Cuttlebug die - Party

Basic Grey Paper pack 6 x 6 - Wisteria

Petaloo- Flora Doodles

Scrappy Cats - Clear Stamps Pretty blooms

Mark Richards Pearls & dots - 3 pkgs 1 each of 3mm gold metallic, blue clear dots and 1 5mm pink

Pkg of assorted pink and red paper flowers

Michaels Bridal Table Confetti flowers. 100 assorted colors.

5 pkgs of assorted charms and embellishments

21 assorted ribbons from my ribbon stash each is at least 2 feet of ribbon for a total of 42 feet of ribbon.

I will try to scrounge up more items that will fit into my flat rate mailer.

Thank you so much for your understanding and your lovely emails understanding the situation.

And The Winner IS

I almost forgot to have random generator choose the winner. I was getting ready to shut my computer down for the evening and head to bed when suddenly it dawned on me, some one would be looking at my blog wondering why I didn't post as promised. Also there were several duplicate entries so I deleted 1 of each of the duplicate posts in order to keep it fair for everyone. Now with that out of the way.... The winner, chosen by Random Generator is: (I always let him choose because I want everyone to win).
Are you ready?

You really want to know?

Ok here it is....

Congratulations to : Debbi
who said: That is so nice of you, Sally, to offer such a great prize when Scor-Pal bailed. So sorry for the hassle to you, but the candy looks awesome! Thanks for the chance to win. *smiles*debbi
Debbi, Please email me with your snail mail address and I will get your prize out in the mail as soon as possible. My email is in my side bar. Congratulations!

Check out the Handmade Princess Dress!

I don't have a card today, but thought I would share some time with my Miss V. With Easter coming I am always so undecided as to what I should get her for Easter. All the other grandmas get her an Easter Basket with a furry animal, but I alway try to be different. Well this year I didn't have a clue what to get her. I usually always buy her a partial wardrobe of summer clothing, which I have done, but I wanted something special for her... When she was here Friday a week ago, she asked me to set up her Princess Castle Tent. Then she asked me if she could change into a dress so she could play princess. Well that was it. I decided she needed a princess dress to play princess, so I gathered her up and off to Joanne Fabrics we went. She had a blast picking out her pattern and fabric. She knows her mind and chose exactly what she wanted. We came home and she played princess in her castle, minus a princess dress. Once her mom picked her up I dragged out the pattern and got busy. Halfway through the sewing process my sewing machine light went out and nobody was home... Dead! What's a Nonnie to do now... I can't disappoint my precious Miss V so I dragged out the thimble, needle and thread and got busy. (When I get my sewing machine from the repair shop I will reinforce my hand stitching). Anyway I had the dress finished enough yesterday that when she came she could play princess complete with princess dress.

Here are some pictures. A friend told me I should blur Miss V's face so I have done that in these pictures. I know it is the wise thing to do, but it certainly takes away from the fun of the pictures.
At this point, I had not hemmed the dress, so the underskirt is haning longer than the overskirt.

Every Princess needs a Castle

These guys are truly smitten by the Princess

Measurements for Card I made for the Charisma Challenge Today.

I was asked if I had a tutorial for the card I posted for the Charisma Cardz challenge today. No, but I have taken some very poor photos. It is raining and dreary here so no good way to photo today without mega shadows. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me using the contact button in my side bar.
One day while I was blog-hopping I came across a fold that someone (sorry I can't remember who) had made and they embellished it to look like folded layers on the front of the folder. I thought it would make a great card so came up with this. I used the Scor-it board because with it you can score in increments as low as 1/16 inch.
I am sure these instructions are as clear as mud and we both know the photos are horrible. Definitely no question about that. I tried. (Scroll down to next post to see the actual card)

Spring Is In Full Swing At Charisma Cardz

Good Morning and Hopefully Spring is on the way where you live.
My daffodils are sticking their heads above the ground so hopefully in a few weeks they will be in full-bloom... They are my favorite early spring-time flower, and yes I'm allergic to them. LOL

I couldn't believe all your lovely creations last week for Leannne's challenge. Thanks so much for joining in the challenge at Charisma Cardz
Can you belive it is week 12 at Charisma? Our talented Charisma Gal: Vee
has set the challenge for this week. She has chosen
Spring Has Sprung
I can't wait to see what you create.

For my card this week I have created a wonky fold card.

A Card & A Couple Challenges

I decided I needed some card making time today
I can't believe I wrote this big write up about this card and Mr. Blogger only posted half of it. I will try this one more time. LOL
I made this card using the sketch # 38 challenge at Magnolia Down Under and it fits the challenge for Copic Creations - Using your favorite copic technique. I colored my buttons with copics to match my card.
It also fits the challenges for
Play Date Cafe - medium pink, pink & yellow
Verve Stamps flowers
The Rose and chair images are magnolia.. Stitching is Cee Dee's an oldie I had forgotten that I had... LOL punches are punch bunch and MS. Buttons -my stash and the background paper is Basic Grey -porcelain. The little chair and buttons are colored using copic markers... My all time favorite medium to use.. However I do have a tip for you, which I will post at the bottom. Of course you all already know about this but it was an accidental find to me. Before I post about the tip I have to tell you I have been hearing rumblings from the "male" department in our family about spending too much on crafting supplies. Now I pay the bills in this household and know that finances are tight so I try my best to be very frugal and have only purchased a few copic markers since Christmas, so with this find hubby will be very happy when he learns about my tip... me not so happy but it will make me use other mediums a little more often when I color and not always my beloved copics.

I accidentally stamped my flowers on regular inkjet paper, thinking it was my special paper from copic. (they are both thin). Well not wanting to waste my images I drug out my prisma color pencils and gamsol to blend and got busy. I was so amazed with the results. I didn't think blending would work on plain ol inkjet paper. I can tell you from experience you can't use copics with inkjet paper.... way too much bleed-through. Anyway when my copic paper stash is low I will drag out the prisma color pencils and regular paper. I didn't try multi-purpose paper or copier paper, just inkjet so I am not sure how the others would work. If anyone else has tried it on the other paper leave a message and let me know.

UPDATE! Visiting Challenge Blogs & Question???

***UPDATE*** I sent an email to the blog owener, but have had no response from them personally. However I have just visited their blog and the posting(the one at the bottom of my post here) has been taken down. Hummmm..... I wonder why? Eventhough it has been taken down I wonder what their "behind the scenes" policy will be? Also all of those who have emailed me personally about the name of the blog I have returned your emails with that information.
Another

UpDATE.. I have recieved so many personal email (more than the comments listed here) askig me for the name of this blog. I have been really hesitant to list it, however since so many of you have asked it is The Pink Elephant, however they have removed their original post.

I have a question? This morning I was visiting challenge blogs and came across one who is now saying they have so many fabulous entries they are now going to start judging on clear crisp photos.... Not my words. I was wondering if this blog really doesn't want a lot of entries or they want everyone to concentrate on photography rather than doing what they love....crafting. I for one am not a photographer... Never have been, but I do try to do my best, however my hands shake and my vision is blurred so am not alway sure how my photos will come out. I sometime takes as many as a dozen photographs before I get one that will work. However I do love crafting and enjoy creating. Am off to remove this blog from my side bar as I don't want to be responsible in any way of them having TOO MANY participants.

I am wondering if all challenge blogs feel this way or this is just an isolated situation? I love joining in challenges, but don't want to join in and cause someone undue stress as I also know what that can do to your health.

The reason for this question is because this week my work was quetioned and now I read this on another challenge blog?

Your comments please...

Something For The Kiddies

Hello this fine Thursday Morning.

Thank you to all of you who joined in the challenge at Charisma Cardz/ this past week. Your butterflies were truly stunning. A lot of fantastic inspiration out there for sure.

This week's challenge at Charisma Cardz has been set by the lovely and very talented
Charisma Gal:
Leanne
Not only is she lovely and talented, but her love for children and motherhood are amazing.
I don't find it easy to make children things, but truly had a wonderful time with this challenge. Thanks Leanne for making me think outside my comfort zone. My Miss V fell in love with this creation and it was out the door long before your challenge. LOL She has literally spent hours playing with the pin wheels and sharing her lolli pops with her little friends. I was delighted because it made her so happy.

Calling all crafters! I have already added my card to the Challenge Blog at Deedle Dee Doodles Challenge Blog/, aka. DZ Doodles, but I am the first and only one. Now I like company so please join me there. I'm not on the DT so they aren't paying me to say this. Grab if fast! Hurry! It's a fabulous image too! Join in the fun....they have a prize for some lucky winner too!

1 st DZDoodles Challenge

First of all last night I received my boat-load of digital images from DZ Doodles Digital Images
I can't believe how clearly they print out. No pixelation at all! Truly clear images to work with. I couldn't wait to get coloring but due to vision problems, had to wait until this morning so I could see better in the daylight hours. I printed out a whole sheet of these images and then couldn't decide which one I wanted to enter into their First Challenge ever at DZ Doodle Challenge Blog/.
My Miss V says, "Nonnie when you can't make up your mind do ennie, menie, minei, mo..." so that is what I did and this image won. LOL

Ribbon: stash

Paper: Debbie Mumm, Noah's Ark

Flower: Michael's bridal table confetti, which I colored with copic markers and Spica markers.

A Few More Cards For Challenges

I have had several of these images laying around colored, but never put them to a card. Whilst I have been trying to straighten my craft room, I have been trying to finish them..
The first card is a House Mouse Image... Just love these stamps. Too bad I only own 3 of them.. LOL
I have used the sketch from House Mouse
It also fits the challenge for
Creative Card Crew Going Dotty
Image: House Mouse
Paper: Debbie Mumm-Fairy Tales
Punch: SU
Flowers & Dots: Stash
Copic Markers
At You Spica Markers Set A
Cuddlebug Swiss Dot Folder

Next Card:
I used the sketch from

This card was made using things all from my scrapbox. I took a few liberties with flipping parts of the sketch to fit my card.

This probably my favorite card today. It is so different from anything I have ever done.
It fits the challenge at
I used a really simple background of inking so not to take away from the castle. This is actually paper that I found in a Debbie Mumm pack called Fairy Tales. It was cobblestone. I printed the image from Rusty Pickle, then colored it with my copics to give a look of faux paper piecing. This is going to be my next home... "A Castle"... NOT Too much to clean.

Next UP:
Don't Ya just love this image?
This fits the challenges at:

Challenges With Blurred Pictures

I promise this is my last post for today (probably all week)
I know that I am a bad photographer, but I am really hoping it is my blurred vision that is making these look so bad. LOL
My First card is made using the sketch from Sketch Saturday
The other challenges this fits is:
All Sorts Color combo pink, white black
Dutch Dare colorinspirations

The little hedgie was a stamped birthday gift from a DT mate, punch - punch bunch, ribbon, flowers and beads and paper from my stash and scrapbox.

Next up
Using a sketch from Card Patterns
It also fits the challenge for
Colour Create mint, chocolate, cream & texture.

I colored this SK image ages ago using my copic markers. Never had an opportunity to use it until now. I used the cuddlebug to add my texture and part of the design. Used light beige ink to ink the edges of the image and mounted it on dark chocolate paper. Ribbon is from my stash.

For my next card I used the sketch from Stamptacular Sunday
I have always loved these little images but have been intimidated by them. Couldn't quit see myself coloring one of them.. Have to say I was pretty pleased with it when I got finished.

This card also fits the challenge for:
Paper Play Challenges seeing double (I have two clouds in the image)
Delightful Sketches kids theme
Cute Card Thursday #103 Celebrations (Mine is birthday)
Paper Cutz Challenge #32 Anything Goes

Magnolia Down Under Birthday...

Papers and ribbon are from my scrapbox. Image colored with copics. Image -- Magnolia

A Challenge

Sorry for the blurred pictures. Not sure if it is the picture taking or my vision. Could be a combination.

I used the sketch from Simon Says Stamp Challenge. I love the sketch, but am not too pleased with my card. The butterfly is from stampin up, colored with copics and highlighted with smootches. Sentiment is Heart and Soul Rubber Stamp Company, Paper-DCWV Maraposa, Ribbon Stash.

If you do not leave a name and
email/blog site you will NOT be included in the drawing.***

******NEWS AND A NEW BLOG******

iCopic now has a new blog that features "how to" videos using copics. On their blog they tell how to start purchasing them. Fabulous! Be sure to check it out.

I thought I would try my hand a coloring an image just using the colors from the Manga Muted Colors set, however I didn't have all the colors, so keep in mind that as you look at this. (I also cheated and used other colors on her face.)
I wanted to show, that in my playing with copics, I have learned you can do some shading even if you don't have 3 verying shades of the same color (light, med, dark). With her kimono I colored the entire thing in E51, then lightly added a line of y17 in what I felt were my darkest areas , Colored again with E51 to blend the two colors together. I colored the base of the leaves with YG67 and the tips with G21. I used R59 on the fan, putting two coats on the center part of the fan and one on the rest. I then used my E51 to lift some of the color off the top part of the fan. I don't own this set of Spica at you markers so I couldn't use any of them but I would have done some highlights with those as well.

I Was Going To Wait To Make This Announcement...but

I was going to wait until April 1st to make this announcement........ but...... the cat is out of the bag....but since the DT members have already mentioned it on their blogs, I thought I might as well do it now. I have been slowly over the last few months stepping down from my commitments. As you all know sometimes life has a way of getting in the way of what we want to do rather than what we need to do. At this time I need to regroup and refocus on things that involve more time with family commitments. Charisma Cardz has been the greatest to work for and I really, really didn't want to leave, but felt that I was not able to fullfill all the commitments of being on the DT. They are now having a designer call so if you would like to be part of a FABULOUS DT hurry on over, check out what you need to do and apply. If you are chosen you won't be sorry. They are absolutely FANTASTIC to work with.

Having said that, I will still keep up with my spotlights on Mondays so be sure to stop by each Monday and see who the spotlighted company or product is and what the fabulous freebie will be for that week for some lucky winner/winners.
Hugs,
Sally

( Honestly, I ordered 12 unmounted, untrimmed stamps the other day and it was less than $20.00 with shipping) All of her stamps are made in the USA, are red rubber, not clear. She readily answers your questions, even my dumb ones, without making me feel like a ditz. Sue has generously sponsored this post with some wonderful stamps. Please stop by and visit her store today at Heart & Soul Rubber Stamps
