Good Morning - It's Thursday

Yes, it is really Thursday already and you know that means another lovely challenge from Charisma Cardz. This week the theme is "Scap It", which is a theme that is near and dear to my heart as I do love scrapping all about my granddaughter's silly antics. If you could see all the scrapbooks I have of her and she's only 4 you would certainly tell my that I am a loon! Just can't help myself. Oops. I do get carried away.
Thank you all who took part in our challenge last week for Carly's lovely color image. Your creations were amazing. It was good to be able to check out your blogs and see many of our regulars and some new names to me.

Here are my 2 scrapped pages. (Can never do just one!) She does love to ham-it-up for the camera.
In this one below she had just won 3rd place in the Awana Grand Prix at church. You would have thought she won a million dollars. She even slept with that throphy. I have one more picture to scrap of her sleeping with it so keep a watch here. I am sure one of these days it will show up on my blog.

I Took Time TO Play- 4 Challenges Whooo Hooo

With all that has been going on this summer, I think I am becoming little depressed so yesterday I told my hubby that I was not going to answer the phone or go anywhere, I was going to spend some "me" time. I can't believe that I was able to do 3 cards for 4 challenges and it felt so good! My mojo seems to be on vacation, but the attempt did me a world of good.

My mother is doing very well. She goes to see a specialist on Monday, so we are all a little apprehensive about that. She will find out if she has to have surgery. However my mom is a fighter. Since she got out of the hospital after having her stroke hubby, my parents and me put 40 pints of corn in the freezer and she told me starting Tuesday we would be canning tomatoes. Now coming from a gal who has done this all her life, all I can say is I hate anything there is to do with preserving food. I know your going to say, but it tastes so good in the winter. True, but I still hate doing it! Sorry about the digression.

First up: Friday Sketchers Challenge 66 is a sketch by Carole. I decided that since I have not done 1 Christmas Card this season maybe it is time to give one a whirl. I found this old snowman, Hero Arts, stamp and fell in love with him all over again. I colored him with copic markers, Placed him on some old scraps of Basic Grey (I think). Added a few glitter snowflakes punched from a Martha Stewart Punch, a few glitzy gems and Merry Christma Ribbon and I had my first Christmas Card done. Only 149 more to go. LOL

Second & Third Challenges: Basic Grey Challenge # 2, a color combo of brown, pink and yellow, combined with sketch # 65 from Sketch Saturday made this adorable little card that I am going to send to my granddaughter, who is always begging me to make her a card and mail it to her. Nothing she loves better than getting mail with her name on it. Image is Motivet Stamps. Don't you just love this little hippo? I colored the image with my copic markers, used all Basic Grey papers from, Sultry, Urban Prairie and Porcelain. Border punch is EK Success, Flowers Michaels Bridal Table Confetti, Pearls colored brown with copic markers are from Mark Richardsusa and ribbon from my stash and sentiment stamp has no name on it, so I'm guessing it is a $1 stamp from Michaels. LOL

Challenge 4: Just Magnolia Week 19 Rach's Sketch. I combined this challenge with Christmas again and now I have 148 left to make. Colored Tilda with copics, added flower soft, Christmas, in her hair. Put in a few glitter snowflakes made from my Martha Stewart punch, inked all the edges with Ranger antique linen. Flowers were from my stash, but I sprayed 2 of them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists to make the pink and dark pink (I know it looks red) Added a sentiment from ?? All I can tell you is I got it from Michaels last year. I have misplaced the insert or better yet knowing me, I probably tossed it.

It's Thursday And it is challenge 33 at Charisma Cardz

For the next few weeks I will not be able to be on the computer much, so I have asked to take somewhat of a leave until I get things situated with my parents. I have asked Leanne to put my challenges on the Charisma Blog and she has kindly assented to do so for me. Now I hope that as I sit here this evening preparing these posts for Mr. Blogger he won't let me down. LOL.

This week our challenge has been set by our blog owner, Carly. She has come up with a fantastic inspirational photo. The colors are wonderful to work with. Since I am doing this so far in advance, I don't have all the details so please be sure to stop over to the Charisma Cardz Challenge Blog/ and get all the details and who will be our sponser.

Thank you to all who participated in our challenge last week.

When my sister was home she needed a special gift box, so I took Carly's inspirational piece very literal and this is what I came up with. Loved this challenge. What am I saying I love them all. LOL

I filled the box with 3 muskateer bars before i sent it to my sister. She had to eat all of them before she could use the box. LOL. I am sure that was a real hardship, but someone has to do it.

Paper is from K & Co Designer pad
Flowers - Stash
Leaves, Martha Stewart punch
glimmer mist, pearl
Sentiment on tag - Studio G

Hopefully I will get a chance to visit your blogs later and see what you came up with. I truly do appreciate all who took part in my sketch challenge.

Now onto this week's challenge at Charisma Cardz/ . Leanne is hosting the challenge this week for Roxy. Please keep Roxy and her mom in your prayers.

My Mom

I just wanted to let you all know that I will not be around for awhile. My precious mother collapsed at church yesterday with a stroke. Although I am very worried about her, I am encouraged by her improvement since yesterday. She was unable to walk without assistance , but today she is able to shuffle on her own. She will be evaluated today to see if she qualifies for physio. Since my dad is hard of hearing and my mother is legally deaf, I will be spending as much time with them as needed to help them understand the doctors and to help them make decisions. I will be back as soon as I can. If you feel inclined we would appreciate your prayers. I know that prayer certainly helps and already we know that by the improvement she has made since yesterday. God is so good to us in spite of our worry. !

Thank you for understanding.

Challenge 31 - A sketch - By ME

Oh my goodness it is Thursday and I have been so busy setting up my challenge over on the Charisma Cardz that I almost forgot to set up my own blog. I'm sure none of you ever do that.

Thank you all for taking part in JoAnne's Challenge this past week. Your creations were exceptional. I loved seeing all the variations to the sketch.

Our sponser this week is Simon Says:

Simon Says Stamp

This week my sketch is a little different. It is my first one, so please be gentle. LOL I left out on purpose where to put your image and embellishments as I wanted you to use your own creativity and just have FUN with it. Be sure to stop over to our challenge blog and get all the details for this week. I can't wait to see what you do with this. Good Luck

My card is pretty simple this week. As you can see I was in a purple and green mood. LOL

I inked around the edges with black ink. Faux stitched around other parts, hand drew in butterfly trail, added bunches pearls. Of course I had to put in a little glitz so I added some shimmerz to give it some sparkle.
