I just wanted to take a few minutes to wish everyone a very
Blessed Christmas
and to share my favorite Christmas Scriptures.
For unto us a child is born;
unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called
The mighty God,
The everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

And she brought forth her firstborn son,
and wrapped him in swaddling clothes,
and laid him in a manger,
because there was no room for them in the inn.
St. Luke 2:7

For unto you is born this day in the City of David
a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
St. Luke 2:11

Glory to God in the highest and on earth
peace, good will toward men.
St. Luke 2:14

Sneaking A Peek!

Sorry about the awful picture but I wanted to snap it before Miss V realized that I caught her sneaking a peek and then I had to go and jiggle the camera! LOL Anyway these were the gifts that hubby and I purchased for family and Miss V, however most of them were sent to us by my family from out of state for Miss V and her mom and dad. Also Miss V decorated my tree this year, thus all the pink! Can't say that I think she did a great job, but it's ok. She really, really wanted to decorate Nonnie's tree.

In This photo below she was begging to just open 1 package.
Did we let her?
Of course.
Isn't that what grandparents are for?

What's Christmas About?

It's not about when Santa comes.

It's not about candies and sugarplums.

It's about the belief in the birth of a heavenly babe.

Which will bring us eternal life, once we are saved.

It's not about getting the latest trend, toy or game.

It's about knowing the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, are the same.

It's not about the biggest tree or the brightest lights.

It's about faith in His word that will keep us on a path that's right.

It's not about the amount of money we've spent.

It's about the heavy load, on us, that causes His back to be bent.

It' about the ultimate sacrifice, in the name of love.

A man, once sent to us, as a messenger from above.

A man, once sent to us, to save us from our sins.

Always offering a way to live and to begin again.

Maybe, Happy Birthday are words that need to be said,

Along with Merry Christmas, as we lie and pray in our beds.

It's about oft said, cliche',

That needs to be repeated, especially on this day.

Jesus is the reason --- For the Season!

Merry Christmas & Blessings for the New Year

from my family and me

your & yours!

Singing Angel

I know that you are not supposed to be filled with pride, but I just couldn't help it this morning at church. Our granddaughter who just turned 5 the day before Thanksgiving sang a solo for the Christmas program . She didn't act one bit like she was scared as she stood in front of the congregation. When it was her turn for the solo she took the mic and belted out the words to Away In The Manger, like nobody's business. She did stumble over some of the words as she had to sing all 3 verses, however she did say "the cattle are loweing" rather than her first try at the song while we were practicing. She would say "the cattles are loading". LOL She has been singing with the rest of the tots since she was about a year and a half old, but this is the first time ever by herself. Everytime I think about how well she did I just want to cry with pride.
The photos are not very good because I didn't want to use a flash during services and I had to crop them a great deal to cut the other children out as I didn't have premission to post them on my blog. I wish I had a recording of her singing.

Christmas Creed

I snagged this from Joan at Cards and Other Good Stuff. I just loved it so I asked if I could snag it for my blog.
Christmas Creed
I believe in Jesus Christ and in the beauty of the gospel begun in Bethlehem.

I believe in the one whose spirit glorified a little town; and whose spirit still brings music to persons all over the world, in towns both large and small.

I believe in the one for whom the crowded inn could find no room, and I confess that my heart still sometimes wants to exclude Christ from my life today
I believe in the one who the rulers of the earth ignored and the proud could never understand; whose life was among common people, whose welcome came from persons of hungry hearts.
I believe in the one who proclaimed the love of God to be invincible.

I believe in the one whose cradle was a mother’s arms,
whose modest home in Nazareth had love for its only wealth,
who looked at persons and made them see what
God’s love saw in them,
who by love brought sinners back to purity, and
lifted human weakness up to meet the strength of God.

I confess my ever-lasting need of God: The need of forgiveness for our
selfishness and greed, the need of new life for empty souls,
the need of love for hearts grown cold.

I believe in God who gives us the best of himself.
I believe in Jesus,
the son of the living God, born in Bethlehem this night,
for me and for the world.

My Little Elf

Now how perfect is that picture?
My Miss V was sitting in the family room in front of the unfinished Christmas tree playing with packages that went inside of a ceramic Santa and his pack! She had placed a large green ribbon around her neck (one that I made to go outdoors) and put on an elf hat that she found in my stash of stuff. (I had forgotten that I had it). She was so adorable I just had to take her picture. She didn't even realize I was about until I spoke to her. When she looked up I snapped the photo.

14 Challenges

I have been up since 4 this morning. Couldn't sleep so thought I would make a card. Not sure I like it, but 4 AM might not be my best mojo time. LOL I made this for my Miss V. Now that she has received the little book I made her, she wants everything made with her imaginary friend, Tilda. LOL

I certainly used non-traditional colors, inked edges of music and cardbase, well acutally I inked the whole music sheet with distress ink, antique linen. Added champagne Mist and Frost White (SU) to the fur on her outfit and wings to add a little more bling along with the gems inside the snowflake flowers. Flowers are prima, snow flakes & border-MS punch, ribbon-my stash.
This card qualifies for the following challenges :
Just Magnolia It's Christmas
Magnolia Down Under/ #28 bling, dazzle, gems, etc
Stamptacular No red or greeen
Paper Cutz snowflakes or snowmen
One Stop Craft Challenge Christmas Love (card for one you love)

5 Challenges - 1 Card

Finally 5 minutes to myself to make a card for a couple challenges. I think this combo has to be my favorite for this year anyway. It is just a basic simple card using all cardstock and the cuttlebug for the embossing. Added white ribbon with silver dots used spellbinders for mats for the image and silver mirri paper. I can't remember who the poinsettia stamp is by. The sentiment is from making handmade cards. The poinsettia is embossed with white glitter embossing powder from sparkle n sprinkle . It is really sparkly but you can't tell it in the photo. Also sorry about the shadows, but lately I have been having to take pictures in the lightbox. They just don't work as well as sunshine. This card fits the challenges for:
Papertake Weekly Red or green not to be seen
My Time To Craft Christmas Foliage
Pink Elephant Favorite Christmas Color Combo
Stamptacular Sparkle, Bling
Creative Card Crew Gold or silver

I tried to take a close-up for the glitter to show, but it doesn't show well. IRL it is very sparkly

Where has this week gone? I feel like I have missed the entire week somewhere. Nothing has been accomplished that I wanted to get done and Christmas is only 2 weeks away. I need more hours in the day. If anyone has any extra please share them with me!

There is definitely a chill in the air and snow in the forecast so it's beginning to feel like December in Northern Ohio and CHRISTMAS! My little Miss V is so excited she can hardly control her enthusiasm. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Ok, ok I know you all are waiting for me to post about the challenge over at Charisma Cardz this week. We have had so much fun visiting your blogs these past weeks. Your creations have really rocked.

Thanks to all of you who could switch gears in the middle of the thros of Christmas and create some stunning cards on "Dreaming of Summer".

Now on to this weeks challenge which as been set by the lovely Carly.
She has chosen the theme:
RED, WHITE, (SILVER) & GREEN (Sorry I didn't know how to highlight the white to make the show up white). #49

Our sponser this week is The Cutting Cafe

Now onto my creations:

I have made 2 cards this week. The cupcake invitation is from The Cutting Cafe. I flocked the frosting with white flocking from Sparkle and Sprinkle and added red pearls to give it some confetti. I created the cupcake liner by just drawing lines with the wide end of my copic marker. Loved how it looked when I was finished. Added a bow and little charm. Perfect invitation for a child's birtday party.

The next card is made all from scraps. The image is so old the name has worn off. I colored it with copics. Criss-crossed ribbon in the background. Added pearls, popped up my image and so far it is one of my favorite cards. In Real Life it is very stunning.
Ok, now crafters it is time for you to WOW us with your creations. I can't wait to see what you make.

Early Christmas Gifts Shows We Don't Have To Struggle Alone

This is going to be one of those weepy posts from the heart. No cards or creations this time. I don't often use my blog to post the wonderful blessings that occur in my life and I really should. I know there are others out there who are struggling too and maybe they would be encouraged to hear that we all struggle but we don't have to struggle alone. Some of you may know that my DIL fell the first of Oct and broke her ankle in two, her heel and her tibia. She has been non-weight bearing since then and confined to a wheel chair. When I saw where she fell, I truly felt like getting on my knees and thanking God right on the spot for His mercy. You see she fell from the 1st step to the 4th step. God stopped her on the 4th step. He didn't let her fall down all 24 of them to the concrete floor below. (That was blessing #1) She has had surgery with pins, plates, screws and wires and whatever else they have needed to put in to make the bones grow back together and she will have surgery again on the 16th of Dec. We have no idea when she will be able to return to work, and not having that second income has placed a real financial burden on them. Hubby and I live on a fixed income and were so ill prepared for retirement it is pethetic, but somehow, God has blessed us to be able to help the kids, but that is not truly the wonderful part. Near the end of Oct their stove quit working and we were able to purchase a new one and with the sales they had we got a really good bargin, (Blessing #2). Then the week before Thanksgiving their furnace motor went out and it would cost 700.00 to have it fixed, the kids and we didn't have that kind of money, so hubby and I got them a couple room heaters and prayed the weather wouldn't turn horribly cold and prayerd God would help us provide what they needed. That was blessing # 3 the weather didn't turn horribly cold and a complete stranger to all of us donated a new motor to them and DIL's brother installed it for them. That was blessing #4&5. Next a Thanksgiving Dinner complete with all the trimmings was delivered to their door step along with a donation. Blessing #6. You may think I am nuts, but you have to understand things like this just don't happen in our family. It has to be the workings of God answering our prayers because thus far everything we have asked for, for our kids has been provided. My feet have truly not touched the ground since Thanksgiving. This morning just about the time I thought they were going to touch the ground a package was delivered to my house from out west (I live in Ohio) and it was filled with things for Miss V's Christmas and a gift for my kids. Blessing#7. Oh and how could I forget, DIL was given a wheel chair, a walker and a bath chair. Blessing #8 Now 8 blessings are not all that we have received, we have had decent health, enough to eat, a roof over our heads, money to cover our bills, I could go on forever. Although you may not believe these are blessings I truly do believe it with all my heart. I fall so short of giving God the Thanks and Praise He so richly deserves for everthing He provides us with. So today, at this moment in time I want to use my blog to say Thank you God for all the blessings you have bestowed upon my family and me. Thank You so much for the wonderful gifts You have given us and again truly shown us what the Christmas Season is all about. Thank You for Your loving mercy and please bless all of those who have unselfishly given to an prayed for my family. Please God Bless them and their familys with what they may need the most.
Now I don't know if I can use my blog to say these kinds of things, but I figure the worst thing that could happen is that my blog would be shut down. Others use it for far worse things than I have printed. I hope that this may bless you in some way, especially if you are struggling in your life right now. I hope you all in blogland won't judge me too harshly for writing my convictions, but this is truly from my heart.

2 Challenges For Today

First of all I must appologize for the poor quality photos, but the weather didn't co-operate when I was taking pictures. My son would say, "mom it is what it is"!
Anyway the first card is for a challenge over at Heart's Delight this week. Cindy has asked to use scraps of paper to create a patchwork card. All papers used except the card it's self is scrap paper and the verse is from heart & soul rubber stamp company
This card also qualifies for the challenge at
Next our DT over at Charisma Cardz was given the challenge this month to create something out of a paper bag. I can honestly tell you this was a real challenge and one that I probably won't repeat as I have found out that I am not a paper bag person except to embellish one to put a gift in. Below is my feeble attempt at a paperbag album. It is made using scraps of paper. The flourish on the front is made by the cricut wild card. I cut it out of the miracle tape sheets that I posted about in a previous post, then glittered it. That turned out well, but the rest is plain yuk in my estimation. I now hold a higher regard for those of you who can paperbag craft.
