I Took Time TO Play- 4 Challenges Whooo Hooo

With all that has been going on this summer, I think I am becoming little depressed so yesterday I told my hubby that I was not going to answer the phone or go anywhere, I was going to spend some "me" time. I can't believe that I was able to do 3 cards for 4 challenges and it felt so good! My mojo seems to be on vacation, but the attempt did me a world of good.

My mother is doing very well. She goes to see a specialist on Monday, so we are all a little apprehensive about that. She will find out if she has to have surgery. However my mom is a fighter. Since she got out of the hospital after having her stroke hubby, my parents and me put 40 pints of corn in the freezer and she told me starting Tuesday we would be canning tomatoes. Now coming from a gal who has done this all her life, all I can say is I hate anything there is to do with preserving food. I know your going to say, but it tastes so good in the winter. True, but I still hate doing it! Sorry about the digression.

First up: Friday Sketchers Challenge 66 is a sketch by Carole. I decided that since I have not done 1 Christmas Card this season maybe it is time to give one a whirl. I found this old snowman, Hero Arts, stamp and fell in love with him all over again. I colored him with copic markers, Placed him on some old scraps of Basic Grey (I think). Added a few glitter snowflakes punched from a Martha Stewart Punch, a few glitzy gems and Merry Christma Ribbon and I had my first Christmas Card done. Only 149 more to go. LOL

Second & Third Challenges: Basic Grey Challenge # 2, a color combo of brown, pink and yellow, combined with sketch # 65 from Sketch Saturday made this adorable little card that I am going to send to my granddaughter, who is always begging me to make her a card and mail it to her. Nothing she loves better than getting mail with her name on it. Image is Motivet Stamps. Don't you just love this little hippo? I colored the image with my copic markers, used all Basic Grey papers from, Sultry, Urban Prairie and Porcelain. Border punch is EK Success, Flowers Michaels Bridal Table Confetti, Pearls colored brown with copic markers are from Mark Richardsusa and ribbon from my stash and sentiment stamp has no name on it, so I'm guessing it is a $1 stamp from Michaels. LOL

Challenge 4: Just Magnolia Week 19 Rach's Sketch. I combined this challenge with Christmas again and now I have 148 left to make. Colored Tilda with copics, added flower soft, Christmas, in her hair. Put in a few glitter snowflakes made from my Martha Stewart punch, inked all the edges with Ranger antique linen. Flowers were from my stash, but I sprayed 2 of them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists to make the pink and dark pink (I know it looks red) Added a sentiment from ?? All I can tell you is I got it from Michaels last year. I have misplaced the insert or better yet knowing me, I probably tossed it.

Beautiful cards, Sally. Glad to hear your mom is doing better, too. (And I agree about the food preservation - don't like doing it, but do like the feeling of satisfaction and sense of security when it's done.)
