I'm Here....Not Still Out of Town

I have gotten some emails from some of you wondering if I am still out of town having a good time. The answer is no to both of those. I was out of town on Wednesday seeing an eye specialist. I was back home later in the evening. I have not been feeling well as of late and have been undergoing many tests and seeing several specialists. This will be ongoing for the next little while so I will not be posting as much. I am doing my best to keep up with reading all your blogs. Will be back to posting as soon as I can.

Funky Fairy Challenge 9

You won't believe how much fun this challenge was. I do hope you will give it a try. It is so much fun to use these lovely vibrant colors and all papers can be found at So many of these papers can be downloaded for free on their Blog of inspiration. I have never found a website that has so many full freebies as this one. The papers print out fabulously just using normal printer settings and regular printer paper. You won't believe the quality until you try it.

Now for my project or maybe I should say projects as I did get carried away a bit.

Fruit Stamps were sent to me by a dear friend.. Thanks Cathy! Love them. They are from Stampin Up except the grapes and I can't remember who those are by.. Stickers, ribbons, charms and buttons are from my stash. Jelly Tots -"bumps" Totally Tropical. Love these little things. Thanks Linda for getting them for me. Dreamweavers Recipe Stencil.
I will be out of town today so I am hoping that blogger will do it's job properly and post this for me.

Funky Fairy Challenge Changed A Bit

Hmm it looks like a scrapbook page is just a bit to much for our participants :) So the challenge has been changed a bit.
You can make a Scrapbook page or an Altered Item or a Card with everything on it. Which means to over embellishment your card ;)
Hope this makes the challenge more interesting :)

Being Quiet

Just a quick blog. I have had several people tell me that I have been too quiet these past few days. I just wanted to let you know that my dear sweet Miss V so generously shared her virus with me that I am sick as a dog. I talked to the doctor last evening who told me to drink lots of fluids, get plenty of bedreast (like I feel like doing anything else) and it should pass in about 2 weeks. I really don't feel much like crafting so will probably just try to keep up with blog hopping until I am feeling a little better. Thank you to all who have emailed me. It is nice to be thought of!

I am So Furious I am Bordering On Mad

Wonder how many weird hits I will get from that title. I am on a soapbox so be warned before you read any further. I think this might be a lengthy post! Have you ever had one of those days that it would have been better not getting out of bed? When life throws me lemons I really try to make lemonade out of the situation, but sometimes you just can't.

Well my computer is back in the repair shop this evening. It is very ill. It contacted a virus so all of you out there in cyber land be warned there is a virus called Spyware Protection 2009. Very nasty dude! Anyway I just had Webroot Spysweeper and Antivirus put on my computer exactly 1 week ago at the repair shop and today it didn't even notify me that my computer was being hijacked. Now I am not saying the Webroot is not a good product, because I understand you can get a virus at the drop of a hat, but what I am truly angry about is their customer service and support. When I called I was on hold for 20 plus minutes. Then when I finally go to talk to someone she told me there was nothing they really could do unless I wanted to pay to have it removed, which after just shelling out 500.00 last week in repairs I wasn't too receptive to that idea as it would have been another 100.00 on top of what I already had spent. We talked on for a few minutes and she told me for only 29.95 they could remotely access my computer and take the files they needed and then in 3 or 4 days send me an email to let me know what I needed to do to get rid of the nastly little critter. I at this point asked to talk to a manager. Guess what? Webroot has NO managers available. Nope, not one! I was then sent to a voice mail, I left my message for them to call me back and that was now 5 hours ago. I pushed the button for further instructions and was promtly cut off. I called back again with another 20 plus minutes to wait before being answered. This time after talking to the girl for 7 min explaining what was going on she said well I need you to make up your mind what you are going to do because I can't stay on the phone with you forever. Now let me tell you talk about blood pressure boiling. I said you listen to me young lady. I just spent 500.00 0n my computer of which 150.00 of that was for your software and installation of such and I spent over 40 minutes on hold and now you are telling me after 7 minutes you can't spend anymore time with me? I was told no unless I wanted to pay for services, so I said yes connect me to that department. When they connected me I talked to another gal (this is now the 3rd one) and explained to her what had happened and then asked if I could talk to a manager. She actually found a manager, but I might just as well have not talked to one for all the good he did. He told me for a mere 99.95 they could remote access my computer and remove the culprit, however (don't you just love that word?) They couldn't possible do it until tomorrow. I told him so you are going to take my money and I am to trust that you are going to call me back SOMETIME tomorrow and fix my computer. He confirmed that was right. I told him I wasn't available now until Saturday. He told me they only have 7 techs. Now mind you this company sells software worldwide and they ONLY have 7 techs to take care of problems?????? Something is not right here! Says they don't have that many problems, but now remember it took 2 phone calls with a combined hold time of 40 plus minutes????? Anyway I told him NO DICE! If I was going to have to pay someone to fix my computer I might just as well have it done locally where I could at least talk to someone in person. I then called the company who worked on my computer and took it back to them this evening and guess what? They are fixing it at no charge.

So be warned if you have WEBROOT they have absolutely no customer service skills, only if you are paying for them... They have NO managers unless you are in the "Pay" que and they only HAVE 7 technicians working for them according to the manager. I plan to persue this and have them reimburse me for the cost of the software and installation and now removal of their product. I will take my chances with a free antivirus program. I don't think I could do any worse and at least with them I would know in advance there is NO support!

By the way My hubby was on other phone listening to this conversation and he just couldn't believe it!

Do You Love Scrapbook Pages?

If you love scrapbook pages then you have to check out all the pages the fabulous DT has come up with this week over at Funky Fairy Challenge Blog . These ladies have come up with some wonderful layouts. You won't want to miss seeing them but most of all you won't want to miss taking part in our challenge. It is lots of fun. You only need to use one (1) Funky Fairy item. There are so many freebie downloads at the Blog of Inspiration . The great thing about downloading and printing papers... You only print the amount you need. Now on to my scrapbook page.

My most willing subject is my beautiful granddaughter, lovingly dubbed "Miss V", who is wise beyond her 4 yrs. I just happened to have my camera in my hand as I had taken a photo of a card. When I turned around and she was talking on the phone. She was holding it just like I do and trying to cut her papers at the same time. She was just too cute to miss this shot, so I obligingly took her picture and into a page it went. These are what such wonderful memories are made of. I hope you enjoy it. I truly love this little one. She is the most wonderful blessing God could have given us.

I have used Funky Fairy Papers Cherish Part 2. Regular card stock and Bassil Bling. Flowers were punched using my Punch Bunch and Fiskar flower punches. I then curled them using an embossing stylus. I put dabs of silicone under them to keep them from going flat. The ribbon and centers are embellies from my stash box. I have used a MS border punch to top it all off and handwritten journaling.

Something Green

The challenge for Stamp Something is green. They just didn't say what color of green. So green is green, right? I have been wanting to make this image up in a card for awhile now and after looking at it for a few weeks it has finally fallen into place. The image is from Sweet N Sassy Stamps - My Love Blooms by Chrissy. I just love this set. I colored it with Copics. For the vase I put on glossy accents sprinkled it with tiny beads, let it dry then added more glossy accents. I cut it using my spellbinders in my cuttlebug. The yellow green background is made using alcohol inks. I hadn't used those in awhile and thought it time to drag them out for a refresher. Ribbon and heart pin are from my stash. Sentiment is Whiff of Joy.

One Stop Craft Challenge

One Stop Craft Challenge #20 Sketch-a-doodle-do. I thought this would be a fun challenge to participate in this week. I have used all cardstock. Not a printed piece in site. I must be sick. LOL . We were to do some doodling so I let Stampin up do them for me. Oh, I did draw the doodle from the butterfly's behind. Does that count?

Crafting Supply Suspects:
Stampin Up - Rub ons. (Love these)
Sizzix wedding set folder used in cuttlebug
Magnolia image. This is so sweet.
Colored with Copics
Ribbon from my stash.

2 Challenges With One Card

This doesn't happen very often and I try hard to make a card for each challenge that I enter, but this one just seemed to work out this way. This card fits the challenges for Basic Grey Challenge 26 All round and Penny Black Challenge 40 a Sketch.
Card Recipe:
Basic Grey Paper Ubran Prairie
Ribbon - Stash
Flowers - Prima
Flower Centers - Stash
Sentiment Stamp - Sweet N Sassy Stamps A True Friend #1065
Image - Penny Black
Colored with Copics
Punch - Martha Stewart
Center stip of paper is from my scrap bin.

Whooo Hooo Achieved My Self Imposed Goal

I know I have not been blogging lately and I am sorry for that, but I truly have been busy making cards........just not for challenges. I made a goal for me to make 30 Mother's Day cards for and I finally finished the last one this morning. They will go out in tomorrow's mail. It doesn't matter what your political stand on the war is. What does matter is that we here at home in the USA support our troops where they have been sent. Making cards for them to send home to their loved ones is such a blessing. Every card donated goes to a soldier serving somewhere on foreign soil. There is a video on Youtube made as a thank you for all the cards that have been donated. It will truly touch your heart. If you are not involved why not give it a try. You don't have to donate 30 cards like me, you can alway give toward postage or donate a few cards. They are happy for any donations. If you would like to donate cards be sure to go to their website and read all the requirements as there are some really important restrictions. Check them out. You will be glad that you did. Here is my contribution. There is a mixture of stamped, decoupaged and paper craftcards. It doesn't matter if they are all the same design, I just chose to make 30 different ones. However, Father's Day may all be the same since men cards are so hard for me to make. I am a floral person and most men aren't... LOL Will have to get my thinking cap on for that one for sure.

Funky Fairy Challenge 7 - Door Hanger

Our challenge this week was to make a door hanger. I chose to make a birthday door hanger using Funky Fairy Paper "In With The Old" music. The image is from Pollycraft and Happy Birthday has been printed from my computer then both colored with my copics. I added large green gromets at the top theaded ribbon through from my stash. Covered the circle opening with acetate, then put in some candy kisses and yellow filler to top it off.
This next one is from a template I made myself for Easter. I again use Funky Fairy paper "In With The Old". Martha Stewart lace punch . Stamps were all from Michael's $1 bin. I think they are Studio G. These were colored with my copics and liquid pearl was used for the little bunny tails. Flowers are prima with gem centers from my stash. Filled with candy kisses. (Miss V's favorite).

Wooo Hoo My Computer Is Back

I finally picked my computer up today only to bring it home and find out they deleted all my email accounts, plus half of what they were supposed to remove was still there, so off I went again with computer in tow. In the meantime my antivirus expired on my laptop so it was get new antivirus installed. After 3 phone calls and 2 trips back to the fix it shop I am just now getting a chance to get on the computer today and in 45 mins it will be tomorrow. LOL . So far it seems to be running fine. I am hoping it stays that way for a long time. Will try my best to get all caught up but if not maybe by next week.

Bible Card

As posted before my main computer is very ill and I have no idea when it will be fixed, or IF it will be fixed. In the meantime I am using a makeshift setup here. Laptop with programs I have never used before, so if these photos are not very good please understand I haven't a clue what some of these programs do. I'm just clicking things that I think look familiar and hope that it works. LOL. Hummmm maybe that is what happened to my other computer. I clicked too many wrong keys! My philosophy has always been nothing ventured nothing gained.

Sorry the image is so washed out. I cannot figure out how to adjust the color with this program. I will keep working on it.
A friend sent me several images and this was one of them. I have fallen in love with it and just had to make a card. For some reason images with crosses, lillies and Bibles have always held a very special place in my heart. The image has been colored using my copics. Sentiment is from Heart and Soul. (Web address can be found in my right sidebar Great place to shop for wonderful stamps at a great price). I used scrap papers from my stash. Ribbons, charms and dots are from my stash.

Won't Be Posting Cards for Awhile

I won't be able to post any cards for awhile. My main computer is ill. I am hoping not terminally. I am having to use my laptop and it is not set up with any of my scanner, printer or photo software. If my main computer is terminal I may have to figure out how to do all that from the laptop. After working todayfor about 3 hours to no avail, hubby finally told me to take it to the repair shop. At the moment they told me I am looking at 500.00 in repairs. OUCH! However to replace it would cost about 6 - 8 thousand so repair it, it is. They will call me in a few days with the final tally. I am hoping it doesn't take too long. I will do my best to keep up with all the posts.

I know most challenges like to have their own entry because of Mr. Linky but if I don't do it this way for this time. I won't get my cards posted until the challenge is over. Nothing like being slow. Also some of my cards show up crooked, however they are not in real life. I don't understand why they are crooked in the scan. I have measured and rescanned them and it shows the same???? LOL Ok so I'm not perfect. Have also been having problems with Blogger not accepting words in the link so I will use the full link on these posts. Hope they work and Blogger gets the other problem fixed soonest!

For this challenge we were to use pockets and something basic grey. I used the green and yellow distressed papers from Two Scoops. The ribbon is Martha Stewart. Background paper is Inque Boutique - Always in Bloom. Stamp is a new one from Magenta. Love that stamp it is so versetile it can be used either for backgroud or as a focal point as I have done in this card. Images are colored using copics.

Again this show crooked but upon measuring it, it isn't. I wanted this to be springy as I need to have some spring in my life. I have colored Tilda with watering can with my copics. The flowers are Prima, leaves are Martha Stewart branch punch. flower centers, brads and charms are all from my stash. Paper is from Colorbok Natures Garden.

Thought this was a cute sketch. I used Tilda holding a cat which I colored with prisma color pencils and gamsol to blend. Papers are from Inque Boutique Always in Bloom. Flowers are Daisy Doodles, Flower brad, pearls and sentiment are from my stash.
Wow this didn't scan well at all and in real life it is really a stunning card and is not crooked. In this challenge we were to use colors that we don't often use. I chose to use salmon as it is a color that I like but don't often use. However, in my scan it doesn't show up salmon at all??? The stamp is from Sweet N Sassy Stamps a new release. I just love it. I have also used all cardstock which is unusual for me... No patterned paper! LOL I scored the card on the diagonal using score pal to give dimension. Ribbons are from my stash.
