CD Calendar For My Sister's Birthday

First of All Happy Birthday Terri - I love you and wish you many more wonderful birthdays. I am blessed to have you a my sister.

I do need to appologize for the sorry photo taking. I am the worst!

The first photo is the front of the box that I made and the second is the front of the CD

Below are all 12 months. I can't begin to tell you how I have made them as I used so many different things from the internet, CD's clip art and I didn't write a thing down! I just had fun for a change! I hope my sister likes this. We are as different as night and day and I am always reluctant to make her anything as I feel it is never good enough! LOL

Sketch Satruday # 16

At 2:30 this morning I was wide awake! Since I couldn't sleep I thought I would make another card to see if that would help me with my insomnia! Here is what I accomplished. I used the sketch from http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/

Supplies
BG papers - Dovecraft Victorian Christmas

Stamped image was sent to me by my friend, so I don't remember who she told me it was (my mind is only 1/2 min long most days!) LOL

Check This Blog Out

If you are someone who loves stitching you will certainly want to stop by and visit this new blog. Her stitching is superb and her cards are fantastic. Congratulations Sam on your new blog.

3 Challenges in 1

I just couldn't let this evening go by without trying to make one more card. I think the "Jo" out of my mojo has gone somewhere or maybe it is just lack of energy. LOL Whatever it is, I wish my mojo would come back. I really enjoyed using the sketch from PTW, http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com Sketch #11. Since I was in the mood to use fall colors I thought why not include a challenge from Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog #30. The challenge there is to include at least one stamp. I stamped the leaf background. The next challenge that seem to fit was from Sarah Kay Weekly Challenges . Their challenge this week was to use 3 designer papers. Not sure that my paper with stamped leaves will pass as desiger, but am hoping so. I really wish the glittering on the leaves would show up, but no matter how I take the picture that sparkle never comes through!

Supplies
BG Papers Debbie Mumm Harvest & Holiday
Ribbon - Bow - Tique
Stamp - an oldie but one I love... No name just says Chesapeake VA
Shades of Autum glitter - Art Institute ultra fine transparent. (used 5 0r 6 colors)

SK rubber stamp colored with prisma color pencils
misc. matting paper.

Blog Candy up for Grabs

Why not pop over to All the things I love and see the great things Bev has up for grabs, including at stmap from Whiff of Joy. If you haven't checked out her blog be sure to do so she has so many inspirational cards. You'll be glad you did

I Can't Believe Its Wednesday

I truly cannot believe it is Wednesday and I have done NO crafting. I really must not be up to par. LOL! I needed an anniversay card for my son & DIL so thought I would use the sketch from http://2sketches4you.blogspot.com. I lovede the sketch and thought it would be ideal for what I had in mind. I was pretty lazy though. I used a pinted picture of roses for the center rather than stamp and even pulled out the peel offs.

All supplies were from my scrap and stash box, so I have no idea what I used. The stamp around the roses was from See D's. Embossed with black detail embossing powder from Judikins.

Sooooo Behind

Just thought I would take a minute to post. I had to go to the doctor on Tuesday of this past week. Ugh! She changed my meds in hopes of helping to make my Fibro and fatigue better, but........it made things worse. LOL! I had a reaction to the medication and almost ended up in the hospital. I truly thank God that didn't happen. Just goes to show, one more time, He was in control of my life. I am feeling much better but not near 100% . (I'll take any of amt of feeling better I can get. LOL)! I can't seem to get my mind around scrapbooking or cardmaking at the moment and am trusting it is a passing thing and will improve as my body rids its self of the medication.

Blessings to all of you!
Sally

2 Great Sketches

Wowzers! Yesterday while blog hopping http://2sketches4you.blogspot.com/ I found this fantastic blog that offers a sketch and a bonus sketch at the same time. Thought I would try my hand at both of these and this is what I came up with. I have been wanting to use this paper so thought now would be a good time to do so.
BG Paper DCWV All dressed up Glittered
Magnolia stamp colored with prisma pencils
ribon from stash

This is the bonus sketch from http://2sketches4you.blogspot.com/

and I thought I would have a go at another challenge from http://www.faith-sisters.blogspot.com/
I found this to be an interesting and mind challenging site. I love it!
Your inspirational piece on tresure sure stepped on my toes.

For my card I have used plain white cardstock, covered with Anita's blue Christmas music paper in dark blue. Then added Mirror paper in silver (thus the bad photo). Used cuttlebug embossing folder, hearts, fiskars border punch, silver metallic beads, silver ribbon for the tag. Image is stamp from Chesapeake, VA (no name on stamp, but it is one of my favs), stamped with Dew Drop Brilliance Meteterranean Blue and pop -dotted on mirror paper. Treasure stamp (?)

I have used these elements to depict the scripture that I have chosen to go with the theme word treasure. Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is there will be your heart also.

Sarah Kay & Paper Take Weekly

The challenge this week from Sarah Kay Weekly Challenges was purple and green. I love how this turned out and by using this fantastic sketch from http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com it was just perfect for my image. I don't have many Sarah Kay images and those that I do have was stamped and sent by me by a wonderful friend in England. It is because of her generosity that I am able to join in these challenges. 2 Challenges Unloved Supplies & Back To School

This is our Miss V's first day of preschool. I was happy that she feels she is "all growned" up now and can go to school as she has wanted to do since she was big enough to watch the school busses pass the house, however I was so sad to think that she really is growing up. It was as hard to send her off to school on that first day as it was to send my son all those years ago when he was little.

I was able to use two challenges in this one. http://stampchallenges.blogspot.com Challenge this week was "Back To School" so this fits the bill... and the other challenge is from http://iheart2stamp.com using their sketch and unloved supplies. All I can say is that all these items are so unloved and so old I really don't remember where most of them came from. Even after finishing the layout I still don't like the supplies so am not really pleased with it. The only thing that makes it worthwhile is my Miss V! LOL

Rainbow Ladies Door Hanger Challenge

After the week I have had I seem to have lost my mojo. If you
find it would you please send it back?
As I was checking the blogs I saw this on Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog
and thought it would be a great idea to make one to hang on a friend's
door with a little gift. Thanks for the idea!

Paper - DCWV Autumn
Flowers - Kaiser Scrapbook & Prism
Brads & Ribbons - stash
Mat paper - Debbie Mumm
Stickles - Stardust

Up Date on Hubby

Just a quick update on Hubby. He is home from the hospital and doing very well. He did have a stroke, but NO paralysis, (How I THANK GOD for that). His speech is normal. He does have some memory issues, however, the doctors feel he will make a full recovery. I am so blessed! He has some more testing to go through as an outpatient, but I expect good results from all that!
